Hand-picked secondhand

As a counterpoint to mass-produced interiors and copies of copies, the dream of Dakabom was born. Here, the focus is on the authentic and genuine, with a passion for giving pre-loved products a second chance. In Hungary, there is a long-standing tradition of restoring and reusing rather than discarding old furniture, and it is there that Dakabom finds much of its selection.

A treasure hunt for furniture

Karin and Dag Sjökvist founded Dakabom in 2018, and since then, they have been searching for hidden treasures to fill their 900-square-metre store. In collaboration with carefully selected family-run businesses in Hungary, they curate a unique collection of wardrobes, chairs, tables, and old window frames.

The industrial heritage of Norrahammar

Dakabom is located in the historic industrial premises of Norrahammar, alongside a vibrant community of entrepreneurs and creatives. The site's industrial history dates back to the 19th century, when Wilhelm Spångberg established a factory for casting and machining. The ironworks expanded significantly, and an entire community - today's Norrahammar - grew around it.

In the early 1990s, the ironworks closed, and many buildings were demolished. However, some remained, and these have now become a hub for inspiration and creativity. Here, you’ll also find:

  • Me in Colour, offering carefully curated second-hand clothing
  • Cajo Keramik, a ceramics workshop
  • Tyghuset, a textile shop

Over the past few years, Bruket has evolved into a vibrant destination for food, culture, and unique shopping experiences.
